Join Us Wednesdays During Lent

All events are held at Spring Creek United Church of Christ and are open to EVERYONE.

Join us for a reading of the Gospel of Mark, Wednesday March 4th at 7pm, in the Fireside Room. Mark tells of the ministry of Jesus from his baptism by John the Baptist to his death and burial and the discovery of the empty tomb - there is no genealogy or birth narrative, nor any post-resurrection appearances. It portrays Jesus as a heroic man of action, an exorcist, healer and miracle worker. In this Gospel Jesus is  the son of God, but he keeps his identity secret, concealing it in parables so that even the disciples fail to understand.

Please join us as we continue our Lenten Wednesday Series with a screening of the timeless classic Jesus Christ Superstar. A global phenomenon that has inspired and moved audiences for over 40 years, Jesus Christ Superstar is a timeless work set against the backdrop of the extraordinary and universally-known series of events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.  We will meet in the Fireside Room at 7pm on Wednesday March 11th.  Please feel free to bring snacks or drinks.

Please join us for a Lenten visit with Lou Ness, Executive Director of Shelter Care Ministries on Wednesday March 18th at 7pm in the Fireside Room. Lou gained national recognition for her walk (on foot!) from Rockford to Washington. She will be discussing the role of Shelter Care in our community and sharing her thought on poverty and what we as people of faith might do about it.  Lou is a force of nature and is sure to be both inspiring and challenging!
